[Ubuntu] Probleme mit HPLIP!
 
Nabend meine Lieben Linuxjunkies. :blabla:

Ich habe mein erstes Problem. Und zwar habe ich mein System noch einmal neu aufgesetzt, da ich denke ich in den letzten 4-6 Linuxanfängerwochen doch 1-2 Sachen falsch gemacht habe und ich nun noch einmal SAUBER starten will. Es läuft auch wieder fast alles, außer HPLIP.

Ich registriere den Drucker über USB, funktioniert auch alles.

Aber sobald ich die HP-Toolbox starten will passiert nix. Eigentlich müsste sich die GUI öffnen. Selbst das HP-Symbol in der Statusleiste erscheint nicht wie es eigentlich der Fall sein sollte. Helft mir bitte. :D

Starte das Ding doch mal aus dem Terminal. Wenn Fehler auftauchen landen die im stdout und das siehst du dann im Terminal, gibt oft genug Hinweise darüber warum dann was nicht starten kann :)

Habe nun einfach mal per nautlius im sudo Modus die Zugriffsrechte des .hplip Ordners auf meinen User geändert (Waren vorher alle auf root) und alles funktioniert. Wie kommt sowas? Bei meiner ersten installation lief es auch ohne die Berechtigungsänderung.

Der superuser hat offensichtlich die Ordner/Dateien in dein ~ erstellt :)
Was genau macht denn das hp-setup...das hast du ja mit sudo ausgeführt

hp-setup öffnet ne GUI zum konfigurieren und initialisieren von meinem Netzwerkdrucker.

Bei Ubuntuusers steht aber auch das der Befehl "sudo hp-setup" heißen muss. Also mit root.

Mir hat das ganze keine Ruhe gelassen. Ich habe nun heute morgen (Ich habe ja im Urlaub nix besseres zu tun :D) Alles noch mal von vorne installiert. Die Distri und habe direkt mit HPLIP angefangen. Man beachte, entgegen der Aussage in der Ubuntu Wiki hp-setup ohne sudo.

Dein Befehl lässt sich auch vereinfachen...statt

kannst du schreiben

Du kannst also mehrere Pakete mit einem apt-get install Aufruf installieren :)
