du dürfstet gunzip nicht installiert haben...

wie bei windows: wenn du das dekomprimierungsprogramm für das jeweilige format nicht installiert hast, dann geht halt nix

so einfach wie bei windows (klicken, und es funktioniert) gehts bei linux nicht (ist halt trotz aller annehmlichkeiten ein technisch-orientiertes betriebssystem)

ums englisch wirst nicht drumrumkommen, denn die meisten howtos (anleitungen) sind nunmal in englisch... (egal welche distribution du verwendest)

da du ein dualboot-system mit windows drauf hast, einpacke die datei in windows (dort wirst du nehme ich mal an ein zip-programm á la winzip draufhaben, oder?).

diese daten entpackst du auf eine diskette.

Installation

danach schau mal nach, wie das verzeichnis heisst, in dem sich der linux quellcodes befinden (zu finden unter /usr/src).

bei mir heisst es linux und ist ein symbolischer link auf linux-2.4.19-xfs-r1, das sich im gleichen verzeichnis befindet (bei dir wird das mit sicherheit anderes heissen, da ich einen gepatchten kernel verwende).

danach wechselst du auf die diskette (cd /mnt/floppy) und installierst das ganze mit ./install xxx, wobei xxx gegen den verzeichnisnamen, den du oben rausfindest solltest tauscht.

dieses install-script erzeugt ein verzeichnis /usr/ADI_USB und installiert dort den sourcecode der module sowie die module selbst.

lt. dieser anleitung sollten die module automatisch gestartet werden...

...</font>[/QUOTE]wie gesagt... die treiber sollten automatisch beim nächsten start mitgestartet werden (kann das nicht überprüfen, da mir einerseits das usb-modem, andererseits dsl fehlt)

nachdem du das modem dann eingesteckt hast, müsste sich das modem versuchen einzustellen und den sync zu bekommen...

es bekommt dann eine eth? schnittstelle zugewiesen (? ist eine zahl). überprüfen kannst du das durch ifconfig -a, und das gerät in der in der anleitung beschriebenen mac-adresse ist das usb-modem.

nun muss es noch konfiguriert werden. ab hier solltest du es mit den mandrake control center weiterversuchen.

in der englischen anleitung wird die konfiguration per scripts beschrieben...

diese musst du nur machen, wenn die konfiguration per mandrake control center nicht funktioniert...
